This is your friendly Dandenong Ranges photo walk! What a turnout!
Let’s just say, we got lucky. Real lucky.
It’s Winter here in Melbourne and while it’s know that Melbourne is typically cold, wet and miserable, Sunday morning greeted us with a calm, sunny and reasonably warm day. So warm that most of us had removed many of our winter layers.
Photographers from near & far joined us on the August edition of the Dandenong Ranges Photo Walk with Loop Art & Photo Space. Meeting at the Loop store in Olinda, we had plenty of time to grab a coffee from the local cafe, grab a roll of film or memory card then slowly make our way down the the gates of the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens.
Waiting for the gates into the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens to open, we wandered around and talked and made photos for a few minutes. Once we entered, the group of 14 eager photographer meandered down to Serenity Point.
Even for some of us carrying far too many cameras*, the walk was slow paced, with plenty of stops for photos, as always.
*There’s no such thing as far too many cameras!
As we were saying, the weather was stunning all day. Two hours just wasn’t enough on this Dandenong Ranges photo walk so while I had to head back up to open the shop, many of the crew took their time to walk back up to the heart of Olinda and our little camera shop in the hills.
And the results? My friends, the photos that came out of this free photo walk are unreal. Just take a look through the brief gallery below.
Matthew, Adrian, Sally, Eva and Chris all sent in wonderful photographs from our mountain adventure.
