Welcome to Melbourne’s favorite free monthly photo walks, hosted by Gorak Photo! Our photo walks have been growing in popularity over the past year, attracting photography enthusiasts of all levels.

Join us on the first Sunday of every month for these casual and family-friendly walks, where you can explore Melbourne’s vibrant streets and iconic landmarks through your lens. Please note that while the usual meeting time is 9 am, there may be occasional alterations, so we recommend signing up for our newsletter to stay updated.

Our walks range from leisurely 3 km strolls to more extensive 15 km adventures, catering to various interests and fitness levels. Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn new skills or a seasoned photographer seeking inspiration, our photo walks offer a wonderful opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and capture the beauty of Melbourne.

Ah, yes, Mathias Track in the RJ Hamer Arboretum. What a classic spot and one ripe with magic.

I’m putting in my order for fog already. Hopefully it comes through.

August Photo Walk

Belgrave

Meeting at the Belgrave Train Station Carpark (top level views, baby) we’ll wander through the streets of Belgrave in search of crispy mountain village light.

Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens

The Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens are a hotspot for photographers from everywhere. With plenty to find, the paths meander through stunningly crafted & meticulously maintained gardens.

October Photo Walk

Melbourne CBD & Docklands

Photograph Melbourne as the sun goes down.

We’ll walk from Flinders Street Train Station to Southern Cross and watch as the sun goes down behind the Bolte Bridge.

November Photo Walk

Burke's Lookout

Famous amongst Melbourne locals, Burkes Lookout is a great way to wind down and see Melbourne from above.

Olinda

Staying local to Loop Art & Photo Space, this photo walk is a slow cruise through the town and surrounds of Olinda, Mt Dandenong.

Upon returning, we’re celebrating the year that’s been over some cold drinks and snacks

January Photo Walk

St Kilda

This is the next Loop Photo Walk in St Kilda, Melbourne.

Join a great bunch of photographers, of all skill levels, on a free and casual photo walk along the St Kilda foreshore to the end of the pier and back. We’ll enjoy ice cream and watch the sun go down as the day draws to a close.

Many have requested afternoon photo walks because mornings, urgh. haha.

This one, meet the crew at Loop in Olinda and join us for an afternoon in the local park.

April Photo Walk

Walhalla, Vic

This month, the Free Loop Photo Walk hits the road to spend the day out in Walhalla, Victoria.

Walhalla is an old gold mining town steeped in history and an absolute goldmine for stunning photographs.

This walk is more road trip – we’re meeting at Krispy Kreme donuts in Narre Warren and driving out from there. Contact us if you want to jump in our car.

Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens

Either meet us at Loop, Olinda, or head straight to the Dandenong Ranges Botanical Gardens at 10am for the free photo walk this month and join the community for a casual stroll through the stunning gardens

June Photo Walk

Storehouse Roastery

From Loop in Olinda, we stroll down the hill to grab a coffee at Storehouse Roastery then meander back, photographing everything along the way. This is one of the far slower paced walk, if that entices you a lil more.
